QFX to QBO: using Quicken files with QuickBooks

Both .qfx and .qbo are Intuit “Web Connect” flavours of OFX — but they're aimed at different products, and QuickBooks won't accept a Quicken file as-is.

.qfx = Quicken's flavour; it carries Quicken-specific fields.
.qbo = QuickBooks' flavour (Web Connect), with a bank ID (INTU.BID) QuickBooks expects.

Point QuickBooks at a raw .qfx and it typically won't import — the file isn't in the shape it wants.

Getting Quicken transactions into QuickBooks

Export or obtain the transactions (QFX, or CSV from Quicken).
Convert to a .qbo/OFX with a valid bank ID for QuickBooks.
Import: QuickBooks Online via Upload from file, or Desktop via Web Connect.

QFX/QBO are structured formats, not something you hand-edit reliably — the field names and headers matter. If you only need the numbers in QuickBooks, converting cleanly is far less error-prone than editing tags by hand.
